We Are Unshakable

Hi, this is Daphne Collins, the Lighthouse Keeper with Carry the Light Ministries, here to share An Encouraging Message.  Have you ever asked someone,  "Hey, how's your day going?" and they bombard you with a litany of their problems or woes?  They're not necessarily looking for answers or solutions. It's possible they are just hoping for a sympathetic ear.  

We all have bad days and many of us take them in stride.  The Apostle Paul detailed some of his experiences to the Corinthian believers to explain that there is a cost to discipleship  In 2 Corinthians 11, beginning in verse 24, Paul tells them:  "Five times I received... forty lashes less one.  Three times I was beaten with rods. Once I was stoned. Three times I was shipwrecked; a night and a day I was adrift at sea;  on frequent journeys, in danger from rivers... robbers... my own people...  from Gentiles... danger in the city... in the wilderness... at sea...  danger from false brothers; in toil and hardship; through many a sleepless night, in hunger and thirst... in cold and exposure."  

But the challenges Paul faced are different from our own.  God's word doesn't negate what you are going through.  God sees you, and he is with you as he was with Paul,  who, by the way, also said in 2 Corinthians 4, starting at verse eight:  "We are hard pressed on all sides, but not crushed;  perplexed, but not in despair;  persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed.  We always carry around in our body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be revealed in our body." 

 In other words, We Are Unshakeable!  So, whenever someone asks you,  "Hey, how's your day going?"  Smile and tell them, "Great! I stand on firm foundation!"
